    JOB SUMMARY

    As a member of the Finance, Global Operations, Communications, Executive Office, Human Resources and Law (Business Operations) Finance Business Partnership (FBP), the Financial Analyst, Business Support will support the management and execution of financial management processes that support financial and operational business strategies and plans designed to enable Business Operations to achieve its business objectives. Specifically, he/she will contribute with emphasis on the **Global Finance, Workplace Management, Global Operations, and Human Resources Disciplines** that includes:

     

    • The ongoing monitoring, measuring, and forecasting of Business Operations’ financial performance plus the development and implementation of actionable recommendations to address identified business challenges and opportunities with an emphasis on the four primary Disciplines.

    • The ongoing monitoring and analysis of Business Operations’ programs, services, and/or initiative costs to ensure funding and cost allocation methodologies are appropriately and consistently applied; and that the spending levels are aligned with business priorities and plans.

    • Perform financial analyses and other projects in support of discipline initiatives.

    • The enterprise-wide annual budget and process to include the timely and efficient execution of these processes within Business Operations.

     

    The Financial Analyst, Business Support will also provide proactive support to ensure the financial management, reporting, and analysis needs of Business Operations are met through effective partnerships with the various groups. He/she will establish and maintain strong relationships with these Discipline groups to help effectively address business issues, identify and implement appropriate solutions, influence, as appropriate, business decisions, and improve overall business results.

    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    Education and Experience

    _Required_

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.

    • 1-2 years relevant professional experience.

    • Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices with strong business acumen and both quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.

    • Proficiency in MS Excel and Powerpoint.

    _Preferred_

    • Experience with data visualization tools, such as PowerBI.

    • Experience assisting a team in a complex, service-intensive, deadline-driven environment.

    CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

    • Contribute to execution of activities designed to monitor and measure the financial performance of Business Operations and its applicable programs and services.

    • Assist with Marriott Business Services (MBS) and other Global Finance and Workplace Management groups, as appropriate, to provide routine and ad-hoc operating results and analysis to Business Operations staff.

    • Contribute knowledge of the business environment in Business Operations and interpret data and reports to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial information, identify trends and/or variations in results vs. expectations.

    • Monitor and analyze programs, services, and initiatives costs to ensure compliance with funding and cost allocation methodologies, to determine over/under recovery positions.

    • Partner with MBS and other Global Finance and Workplace Management groups, as appropriate, to ensure service delivery metrics are met and operational challenges are resolved timely.

    • Support analyses related to the development and implementation of new programs, services, and initiatives in Business Operations.

    • Ensure knowledge and understanding of funding and cost allocation methodologies for Business Operations’ programs, services, and initiatives.

    • Support the development of funding approaches/recommendations compliant with management and franchise agreements.

    • Work with the business and/or other internal groups to provide financial support and analysis of proposed projects.

    • Support the timely and effective execution of the enterprise-wide annual budget and forecasting, partnering with Global Finance and Workplace Management FBP team, discipline and Projects staff, and MBS.

    • Assist with preparation of inputs to budget for Business Operations programs and services costs.

    • Assist in the consolidation of all Business Operations budgets, including variance analyses, required by the Global Finance and Workplace Management FBP team.

    • Participate in review meetings with Business Operations staff to support presentation of budgets and long-range plans for approvals.

    • Support the preparation of financial information packages as required.

    • Support the design and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and create accurate reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights into financial performance and key business metrics

    • Create and maintain interactive dashboards, write Power BI queries, resolve data accuracy issues, and assist with data preparation and transformation using Power Query.

    • Maintain thorough documentation of report development processes, data sources, and methodologies to ensure transparency and reproducibility.

    • Provide training and support to team members on Power BI usage and best practices, assisting in the adoption of new reporting tools and techniques.

    • Identify and help implement process improvement opportunities in the interfaces with other Global Finance and Workplace Management groups.

    • Perform ad-hoc analyses for and/or provide information to and advise, as appropriate, entire staff and other Global Finance and Workplace Management groups on the business environment and key operating issues within the discipline.

    • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

     

    The salary range for this position is $70,600 to $100,300 annually.
