Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Shop Assistant Apprentice for one of our commercial waste management clients. Our client is responsible for removing defects from plastic resin and regrind. This will be a full-time position, working Monday through Friday 7-3pm EST (hours can be flexible, but working 8 hours per day).

We are looking for a Shop Assistant Apprentice who is ready to roll up their sleeves and learn the fundamentals of mechanical, electrical, and fabrication work. You will work directly with a trade master, who has launched 400+ products over a 35-year career in manufacturing and innovation. We are seeking someone who has a mechanical inclination, and strong desire to learn. Whether your background is tinkering, repairing things around the house, or simply wanting to know how things work, this is where you start turning that interest into a career.

Responsibilities Include:

- Assisting in fabricating and assembling custom projects

o SolarX Builds and Sorting Trucks

- Operating various equipment:

o Fiber Laser Cutters, Press Brakes, Robotic Welders and more.

- Reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings

- Supporting the testing and troubleshooting of prototypes and helping maintain a clean, safe and organized workspace.

Skills and Requirements

- High School Diploma or GED

- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

- Comfortable working in a warehouse/industrial setting

- Naturally curious about mechanical systems and tools - Completed a trade program

- Mechanical or pneumatic experience null
