The Internal Audit Department provides an independent appraisal function to validate management control systems and to support corporate management in the effective discharge of their responsibilities and efforts to achieve the Company's overall mission. The Information Technology (IT) Audit Team test work includes a wide variety of assurance and consulting services, including IT operational reviews, application audits, information security reviews, and management consulting engagements. In addition, the team is involved in various regulatory compliance assessments, including HIPAA Privacy/Security Rules, Sarbanes-Oxley IT general controls, and HITECH. This position will work on various projects with team members at all levels and receive formal evaluations/feedback on job performance.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists in the planning and scoping of audit engagements through developing audit program sections.
• Assists Audit Managers and Senior Auditors to support and perform comprehensive business process and information technology (IT) system audits.
• Conducts audit fieldwork using observation, research, interviews, detailed testing, documentation review, data analysis, and substantiation of issues.
• Develops value-added recommendations and process improvements, while evaluating the control environment surrounding the organization’s information systems.
• Documents business processes and audit observations.
• Documents audit recommendations and issues by compiling adequate evidence.
• Demonstrates teamwork by cooperating with all team members, sharing information, accepting constructive feedback, and accepting additional assignments when appropriate.
• Works with audit clients to develop and recommend value-added, feasible solutions.
• Continually increases knowledge in the areas of IT, auditing, accounting, business, healthcare, and Company services utilizing self-study and/or continuing education.
SPECIFIC TESTWORK PERFORMED
• IT Operational Reviews (corporate ITG areas)
• Division/Facility IT Reviews (IT general controls and operational processes)
• Application Reviews (security and IT controls within HCA Healthcare information systems)
• Information Security Reviews (emerging cybersecurity risk areas)
• Regulatory Compliance Assessments (HIPAA Privacy/Security, Sarbanes-Oxley IT general controls, and HITECH)
• Consulting Engagements (various, as requested by management)
TECHNICAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
• General knowledge of IT concepts, including programming, networking, database, and security is **required** .
• Knowledge of operating systems, database management systems, system development life cycle, and/or project management practices is **required** .
• Knowledge of computer applications and techniques for analyzing data is preferred.
• Awareness of current/emerging technology trends impacting the healthcare industry (e.g., electronic health records, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data analytics) is preferred.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with major in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Accounting, or related field
• Knowledge, coursework, or experience in any the following areas is preferred:
o Testing controls and performance of substantive audit procedures;
o Analyzing evidence, reaching logical conclusions, identifying issues, and developing strategic recommendations;
o Testing regulatory compliance areas such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, and HITECH;
o Utilizing ISACA standards for IT auditing and/or The Institute of Internal Auditors Professional Practices Framework; and
o Utilizing IT process and control frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, and/or NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF).
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
• Travel up to 25%
