Job Descriptions:
New England Cancer Specialists (NECS) is growing, and we are seeking a full-time IT Specialist to join our team! The IT Specialist provides direct support to users across the practice. They are responsible for coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems as well as ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data. Other areas of responsibility include the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, and support of new or existing applications software including the administration of systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data.
NECS is a community-based private medical practice composed of 18 oncologists and hematologists serving New England from 4 different locations in Maine (Kennebunk, Westbrook, & Topsham) and New Hampshire (Portsmouth). Core Responsibilities:
+ Technical Support:
+ Tier II help desk escalation handling via multiple channels (phone, email, walk-ups, remote).
+ Support for a broad range of systems: workstations, clinical devices, VPN, MFA, and cloud apps.
+ System & User Management:
+ Active Directory & Microsoft 365 account provisioning and administration.
+ Manage Group Policies and enforce security/compliance standards.
+ Maintain user access for external entities and vendors.
+ Hardware & Software:
+ Deploy, upgrade, and maintain IT hardware.
+ Conduct hardware/software installations and configuration.
+ Documentation & Training:
+ Maintain detailed logs in the ticketing system.
+ Assist in onboarding and IT orientation for new hires.
Technical Skills:
+ Active Directory, Microsoft 365 administration
+ Windows OS (10/11) & desktop support
+ Group Policy management
+ VoIP systems (Cisco, Avaya)
+ Help desk ticketing and remote support tools

+ Strong communicator, able to simplify technical issues for non-technical users

Weekend Work: may require periodic emergency response to critical outages, or pre-scheduled afterhours/ weekend project work. No set on call schedule.
Travel: Travel between NECS sites on an as needed basis is required, with mileage reimbursement available.
Required Experience:
Education & Experience:
+ Required:
+ Associate degree or equivalent IT experience.
+ Minimum 3-5 years in Tier II helpdesk support roles within and enterprise IT environment, preferably with healthcare exposure
+ Preferred:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
+ Certifications: CompTIA A+/Network+, Microsoft certifications.
+ Familiarity with EMR, telehealth, and practice management software.
