Job Summary and Qualifications
Summary
As a Consulting Data Engineer, you’ll contribute to the full lifecycle of data solution development – from designing robust data architectures and pipelines to deploying and maintaining scalable infrastructure to move, process, and store data. You’ll drive the development of reliable, high-performance data systems that support analytics, innovative software solutions, and real-time decision-making. This role requires experience with modern data engineering tools and frameworks, strong data modeling skills, deep proficiency in SQL for both complex analytical queries and operational pipeline logic, and a cloud-first mindset. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys optimizing complex data workflows, and is passionate about delivering trustworthy data solutions in accelerated development cycles.
What You will do:
+ Design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure, pipelines, and workflows using modern data engineering tools and frameworks.
+ Write and maintain complex SQL for both operational data processing and advanced analytical queries.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with analysts, data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver impactful solutions.
+ Interpret complex data specifications and regulatory requirements and translate them into accurate, performant SQL queries and data logic.
+ Implement data quality assurance processes, including validation checks, anomaly detection, and monitoring to ensure accurate data delivery
+ Create comprehensive technical documentation covering data pipeline architecture, validation strategies, test outcomes, and operational procedures to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.
+ Lead troubleshooting activities for data pipelines and infrastructure.
+ Advocate for best practices in automation, data orchestration, and cloud-native data engineering solutions.
+ Provide after-hours/on-call support as needed
+ Performs other duties as assigned
What qualifications you will need:
+ 7+ years of experience in a data engineering role
+ Bachelor's degree or combination or professional experience/education required.
+ Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
+ Rapid Application Development (RAD): Familiarity with iterative and incremental development approaches, including prototyping and rapid deployment cycles required
+ Query Languages: SQL experience (googleSQL, t-SQL, pgSQL preferred) required
+ Data Acquisition: Ability to connect to and retrieve data from a variety of sources including APIs, cloud storage, SQL databases, and flat files required
+ Data Transformation: Expertise in writing robust parsing logic, applying schema transformations, and normalizing for downstream consumption required
+ Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with cloud development technologies (Google Cloud Platform preferred)
+ Programming Languages: Proficiency in a primary programming language (Python preferred)
+ Streaming Architecture: Working knowledge of streaming and event driven architectures
+ DevOps/Version Control: Understanding of DevOps practices (Version Control & Agile Tools: Git, JIRA, Confluence, GitHub Actions, etc.)
+ Support and Monitoring: Experience with monitoring and instrumentation practices
+ Essentials Skills: Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
+ Context Switching: Skillful at navigating and reprioritizing tasks in response to shifting operational demands.
+ Prototyping: Ability to build rapid proofs-of-concept and iterate quickly based on stakeholder feedback.
