    Summary:

    The Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole is currently accepting applications for a Parole Hearing Investigator (PHI)/Violation Hearing Officer (VHO) Supervisor. The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of PHI/VHO staff and serve as part of the agency Leadership Team.

    Responsibilities:

    + Lead and manage a PHI/VHO team focused on helping to ensure positive public safety outcomes.

    + Analyze and develop staff skillsets.

    + Inspire collaboration within the agency and with partner law enforcement agencies; foster a positive work culture.

    + Provide input into agency rules, policies, and procedures.

    + Manage, review, and implement agency rules, policies, and standard operating procedures.

    + Audit written reports and analyze/interpret data to make necessary changes and ensure accuracy.

    + Design, implement, and monitor new programs focused on improving public safety outcomes.

    + Evaluate programs and processes for effectiveness and compliance with best practices and agency standards.

    + Identify areas for process improvement; develop and coordinate solutions with agency leadership.

    + Analyze and make recommendations for future staffing and equipment needs.

    + Seek out and evaluate technology opportunities to increase agency efficiency.

    + Work on projects assigned by the Executive Director.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Some knowledge of management practices. Typically gained by completion of one three-credit or equivalent college-level course, OR at least 40 hours of equivalent management training that included all the essential elements of management.

    + Experience developing and monitoring policies and procedures. Typically gained by at least six months of work experience writing or assisting in the review, auditing, and developing of policies and/or procedures, field memorandums, directives, or post orders.

    + Experience assessing department/program needs. Typically gained by at least one year of experience assessing department or program needs.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    + Knowledge of effective practices in parole decision making.

    + Strong communication, interviewing, and report writing skills.

    + Experience with Atlas and Laserfiche.
