    We are looking for a Sr. WHS, Audit Manager to oversee audit activities across Amazon’s Worldwide Operations. In this high visibility role, you will build relationships with senior leaders and execute strategy to scale across WHS auditing while driving improvements throughout the program and company. Our WHS Audit team is cross-functional, and you will manage a wide range of third-party contractors across multiple regions. We are seeking an individual with a strong project management and audit background.     Key job responsibilities

    Key Responsibilities include supporting the WHS audit program strategic delivery by:

    • Supporting the scope, team leadership and implementation of WHS Audits.

    • Delivering the internal audit execution plan by participating in audits, leading audits and coaching internal auditors where needed.

    • Recommending new WHS strategies/programs/technology that are relevant to audit and/or enhance existing strategy and lead from concept to delivery.

    • Supporting the adoption of WHS strategy, and influence change across stakeholders.

    • Driving the continuous improvement efforts and expansion of the audit program including training and peer audit strategic initiatives.

    • Gathering, interpreting, and using complex data to develop actionable steps that will improve processes and optimize results.

    • Providing trend analysis and recommending network areas for improvement that meet company and customer needs.

    • Procuring and managing approved third party WHS auditors.

    • Staying attuned to changing regulations and internal WHS performance to recommend changes to audit plans when required.

    • Performing global trending of audit reports to identify common issues.

    • Working with operations WHS partners and early intervention teams to recommend changes that address deficiencies.

    About the team

    The incumbent must be an effective communicator and be able to send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing and possess excellent program management skills. This individual needs to be an expert in the completion and facilitation of safety risk assessments and root cause analysis incident investigations. They must also have an applied understanding of global safety regulations, codes and harmonized consensus standards.

    Basic Qualifications

    - 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience

     

    - 5+ years of program or project management experience

     

    - 5+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

     

    - 5+ years of experience completing risk assessments and developing risk mitigations solutions

     

    - Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

     

    - Experience in stakeholder engagement, influencing and program/project management in multinational companies

     

    - Communication skills – verbal and written

     

    - Analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving

     

    - Have an understanding of Workplace Health & Safety legal requirements (US OSHA) or other regulatory requirements and international industry best practices requirements

     

    - Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational, Health and Safety (OSH), Environmental, Health and Safety (WHS), or other related fields from an accredited university

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

     

    - Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent

     

    - Master's degree or equivalent

     

    - Preferably has Amazon project deployment, implementation and verification experience.

     

    - Have experience in leading ISO multisite audit and certification in ISO45001 (OHSAS18001), ISO14001, or ISO9001

     

    - Have or working towards CSP, CIH, NEBOSH, or CHMM certification

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
