Description
Have you ever ordered a product on Amazon websites and, when the box arrived, wondered how you got it so fast, how much it cost Amazon and what kinds of systems & processes must be running behind the scenes to power the whole operation? If so, the NA Supply Chain team is for you.
We are looking for a new leader for the NA Transfer Analytics team within the NA Supply Chain’s Inventory Placement team. Successful candidates will have the attitude of a data detective with strong analytical skills. They will work bottom up from anecdotes or top down from high-level metrics to improve algorithms and processes. They love solving complex problems but are also strong at simplifying them for a less technical audience, as presenting to senior audiences will be part of the challenge. Collaborating across software development, operations and transportation teams will also be a requirement for this highly visible role.
Key job responsibilities
• Monitor inventory transfer flows across the NA Supply Chain, audit the inputs into the systems that govern those flows and remove blockers that keep them from connecting our network in an optimal fashion.
• Drive transfer and placement strategy over a multi-year horizon. Articulate how long-term goals break down into short to mid term actions and initiatives.
• Deliver step-changes in placement performance driven by inventory transfers through optimized configurations or improved processes.
• Work closely with development teams to further evolve the software we deploy to manage inventory transfers across the world.
• Dive deep into product-level anecdotes to search for gaps in our tools and processes.
• Report regularly on the placement impact of inventory transfers to senior management.
• Lead a team of 9 BIEs and Analysts.
