Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis (opportunity for contract to hire) in Ossining, New York. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring accurate payroll processing, maintaining employee records, and assisting with benefit updates. This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable individual with strong organizational skills to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
• Process payroll accurately for employees on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including benefit adjustments and time-off balances.
• Reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Assist with payroll tax calculations, garnishments, and related reporting requirements.
• Support the Payroll Manager in running payroll operations and step in as needed during absences.
• Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll and benefit changes.
• Utilize ADP Workforce Now for payroll processing, reporting, and troubleshooting issues.
• Monitor and enforce confidentiality protocols to safeguard employee and organizational information.
• Provide guidance and support to staff on payroll policies and procedures.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
Requirements • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in payroll or a related field.
• At least 3-5 years of experience as a Payroll Assistant or in a similar role.
• Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now, including modules for benefits, time-off, and reporting.
• Solid understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office 365 applications.
• Ability to handle detailed calculations with a high degree of accuracy.
• Dependable, well-organized, and able to work effectively under pressure.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
