Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a leading chemicals manufacturing company located in Northwest Georgia. This is a long-term contract position that offers an opportunity to oversee critical accounting operations in a high-volume manufacturing and distribution environment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and ensuring smooth month-end closings.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the complete month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Prepare and analyze standard cost reports to support decision-making within the organization.

• Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations to maintain proper financial records.

• Conduct cash flow forecasting to ensure adequate liquidity and financial planning.

• Reconcile accounts, including balance sheets and bank statements, to guarantee financial accuracy.

• Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger to reflect accurate financial activity.

• Generate detailed financial reports to present to management and stakeholders.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to perform complex financial analyses and streamline reporting processes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transitions during organizational changes.

• Provide training and guidance to team members to ensure continuity in accounting processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

• Proven experience with account reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Strong proficiency in general ledger management and journal entries.

• Expertise in month-end close processes within a manufacturing or distribution environment.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Familiarity with intercompany transactions and standard costing methods.

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work in high-volume settings.

• Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams.
