    Patient Care Associate / Unit Coordinator - Mother & Baby Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303 $20.90 - $29.02 an hour - Per Diem Days, Various shifts and hours per week *Range includes per diem differential. +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts. Boulder Community Health is seeking a Patient Care Associate/Unit Coordinator for Mother & Baby who performs duties and tasks that assist the RN and promotes effective departmental functioning.

    Qualifications •High School diploma or equivalent preferred •Certified Nurse’s Aide certification, EMT, or equivalent certification preferred. •BLS required by end of conditional period. •Hospital or other healthcare experience preferred.

     

    Responsibilities •Indirect Patient Care Accountabilities: •Transcribes and transmits physician’s orders to appropriate areas and personnel. •Orders designated supplies and equipment; receives and places items in proper storage area as needed. •Answers telephone; takes messages and directs messages accordingly. •Compiles new charts, maintains current charts and enters patient information on charts. •Assists families and visitors as needed. •Maintains census sheet, and log books as indicated. •Excellent communication skills. •Maintains a clean environment in all FAMILY BIRTH CENTER areas, including patient rooms, nurse’s station, medication room, refrigerators, restrooms, locker rooms, etc. •Cleans and restocks supplies (i.e. IV poles, pumps, oxygen set ups, cribs, warmers, etc.) •Direct Patient Care Accountabilities: •Collaborates with RN regarding patient care needs, issues and concerns. Communicates problems to the primary nurse or clinical coordinator promptly. Asks questions to clarify misunderstandings. Requests assistance as needed. •Carries out patient care responsibilities as delegated by RN including, but not limited to, taking and recording vital signs, diaper changes, weights, transport of patients, answering call lights, passing/collecting meal trays, emptying catheters, measuring and recording intakes/outputs, newborn screens, etc. About Boulder Community Health and Boulder, Colorado Boulder Community Health (BCH) is a not-for-profit healthcare organization based in Boulder, Colorado.
