In this role, you will manage complex accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data for real estate projects. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting, while maintaining compliance with multiple reporting standards.
Responsibilities:
• Review and compile financial documents such as invoices, checks, capital calls, and general ledger activity to verify the accuracy of business transactions.
• Post journal entries to general ledger accounts based on various reporting standards, including cash, accrual, and tax bases.
• Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies between general ledgers, reports, and source documents, maintaining organized work papers.
• Develop comprehensive financial reporting packages, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and project summaries, to reflect the financial position and activity of projects.
• Monitor cash flow for projects and offices, initiating capital calls to meet financial obligations as needed.
• Oversee loans, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and resolve discrepancies.
• Accurately code and input financial data into the company’s processing system in adherence to established procedures.
• Manage and prioritize repetitive accounting tasks while researching and resolving issues as they arise.
Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the real estate or construction industry.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with complex spreadsheets and formulas.
• Experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Ability to interpret and apply multiple reporting standards, such as cash, accrual, and tax bases.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess financial data and resolve discrepancies.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate and comprehensive records.
