We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a team in Chattanooga. This role will play a crucial role in being part of the selection and implementation team for an upcoming ERP implementation. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will be assisting with the month-end close process, including working with reconciling the financial statements. This is a broad based role that will set you up for future career progression by providing a solid foundation upon which to build your career.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial and statistical reports, including monthly balance sheets and income statements, with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Reconcile bank statements on a monthly basis to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial records.

• Oversee the monthly close process, coordinating tasks and resolving any discrepancies.

• Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.

• Handle accounts payable processes, including organizing purchase orders, approving invoices, and issuing checks.

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, maintaining compliance with federal and state payroll laws.

• Monitor and resolve accounting issues promptly, applying expertise in accounting systems and practices.

• Assist with and take on ad hoc projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field

• 2+ years of general ledger experience

• Experience with mid scale ERP and/or Quickbooks

• Intermediate level MS Excel experience

• Experience with transactional accounting

• Desire to work in a collaborative environment
