The Mission Manager serves as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for assigned client programs within CMS. This role blends program management, account management, and consultative sales to ensure operational delivery aligns with contractual obligations and client expectations. The Mission Manager is responsible for maintaining strong client relationships, driving internal team accountability, and identifying opportunities to improve and expand our services.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship & Program Oversight
+ Act as the day-to-day interface with assigned clients, ensuring a consistent and positive relationship experience.
+ Maintain a clear understanding of the client’s contract, goals, and service expectations, and ensure all deliverables align accordingly.
+ Oversee labor tracking and forecasting for assigned programs, ensuring budget alignment and effective resource use.
+ Facilitate regular check-ins, program reviews, and status updates with clients and internal stakeholders.
+ Ensure program documentation, reporting, and metrics are accurate and up to date.
Operational Coordination & Accountability
+ Collaborate with SOC leaders, analysts, and engineers to ensure services are delivered in line with SLAs and KPIs.
+ Escalate and resolve service delivery issues efficiently and transparently.
+ Monitor service metrics and performance, ensuring alignment with the program’s scope and timeline.
+ Translate client expectations into actionable tasks for internal teams.
Account Management & Consultative Sales
+ Understand the client’s evolving security needs and proactively identify areas for service improvements or expansion.
+ Partner with technical leads to develop and propose value-added solutions.
+ Support upsell efforts by identifying opportunities for additional services and collaborating with business development teams.
+ Assist in the renewal process by contributing insight into client satisfaction, usage trends, and expansion opportunities.
Qualifications:
+ 3–5 years of experience in program management, account management, or client services in the MSSP, cybersecurity, or IT services space.
+ Familiarity with SOC operations, cybersecurity terminology, and service delivery workflows.
+ Experience with contract adherence, labor forecasting, or resource planning.
+ Strong client-facing communication skills and the ability to manage expectations with diplomacy and professionalism.
+ Consultative mindset with a keen eye for identifying client needs and translating them into business opportunities.
