Robert Half Contracts Finance and Accounting is seeking a Labor Compliance and Payroll Specialist to join a great construction firm in Sacramento!

This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all company projects comply with federal, state, and local labor laws, particularly related to prevailing wage and other public works regulations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in certified payroll reporting, labor compliance monitoring, and documentation, with a strong understanding of government contracting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., DIR, LCPtracker, Elation Systems, etc.).

Ensure all labor classifications, wage rates, and fringe benefits are in compliance with prevailing wage requirements.

Monitor subcontractor compliance with labor laws and certified payroll reporting.

Maintain accurate records of job classifications, worker hours, and pay rates.

Review project specifications to determine applicable labor compliance requirements.

Interface with government agencies, clients, and project stakeholders to resolve compliance issues.

Conduct internal audits of labor and payroll records; identify and correct discrepancies.

Provide training and guidance to internal staff and subcontractors regarding labor compliance policies.

Track and manage DIR registration, apprenticeship requirements, and fringe benefit documentation.

Support the accounting/payroll team with wage adjustments, fringe calculations, and audit support as needed.

Stay current with changes to labor compliance laws and reporting requirements.

This is a full-time position that is contract to hire and would start right away. The ideal candidate would have at least 2-3 years of labor compliance, payroll and LCP tracking experience. If you feel this is the job for you, apply today!

Requirements • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in labor compliance, payroll, and tracking systems.

• Proficiency in certified payroll reporting and familiarity with platforms such as LCPtracker and Elation Systems.

• Strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws and government contracting requirements.

• Experience with accounting software systems, including ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Ability to conduct audits and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage compliance documentation effectively.
