    Job Description

    The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all hotel guests, associates, and hotel property. This role involves monitoring and maintaining a secure environment to prevent theft, damage, or other incidents, while upholding the safety and well-being of everyone on the premises.

    Responsibilities

    + Patrol the hotel property to ensure the safety of guests and employees while protecting hotel assets.

    + Respond to house calls to assist guests and associates with safety, security, and hotel operations concerns.

    + Initiate and follow up on investigations involving crimes committed against property or individuals.

    + Assist sick or injured guests and associates, ensuring all documentation, reporting, and witness statements are completed promptly.

    + Initiate investigations, write incident and accident reports, monitor investigations through to completion, and ensure proper follow-up with guests, visitors, and employees, documenting all interactions.

    + Maintain accurate records of basic duties, including but not limited to monitoring security cameras, shift activity logs, codebooks, and employee/guest interactions.

    + Monitor and control visitor and vendor access to the property by issuing visitor badges.

    + Perform frequent bag checks for associates leaving the property.

    + Escort and assist special guests requiring privacy when entering or exiting the hotel via back-of-house areas.

    + Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive guest or associate matters.

    + Assist the supervisor or director in checking alarm systems, safety protocols, and fire alarm systems while closely monitoring building doors, service areas, delivery zones, and grounds security.

    + Assist hotel management in emergency situations by knowing all hotel safety procedures and guiding guests and associates to safety.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    + Strong writing and report-taking skills are required.

    + Prior security experience is preferred, especially in a hotel environment.

    + Ability to multi-task and make sound decisions in challenging situations.

    + Must be able to walk for extended periods.

    + Flexibility to work all shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

    + Customer-service oriented with excellent hospitality skills.

    + TABC certification required upon hire.

    + CPR/AED/First Aid certification required upon hire.

    + Must reside within 50 miles of the hotel.

    + A valid Texas driver's license and an excellent driving record are strongly preferred.
