Job Overview Job Title: JRSS Network Technician Job Location: Scott AFB, IL Job Responsibilities Trace Systems is actively recruiting for an experienced and cleared Network Technician to join our team on-site on Scott AFB, IL. This position supports the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) providing worldwide 24/7/365 technical and operational support. Responsible for performing and training team members on the following duties: Execute network operations, including analysis of customer traffic across the MPLS and JRSS infrastructure. Perform real-time customer failovers to restore services during scheduled and unscheduled outages and maintenance activities. Collaborate directly with customers and team members to ensure maximum network availability, minimizing or eliminating mission and operational impacts. Proactively monitor network alarms using platform-specific network management tools. Carry out change management tasks such as hardware replacements, software configurations, and ASI (Authorized Service Interruptions) management. Utilize incident management systems to document all phases of service-impacting incidents, including outage reporting, isolation, escalation, and resolution. Assess and resolve network incidents and deficiencies using expertise in one or more of the following areas: routers, switches, routing protocols, MPLS, VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, proxies, packet capture, network taps, load balancing, firewalls, and out-of-band management. Minimum Qualifications Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance. Due to the nature of the work and US Government requirements,US Citizenship is required. Must possess a DoD-8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent) at the time of start. Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including rotating shifts. Experience in one or more of the following areas: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, or performance management. Proficiency in one or more of the following technologies: routers, switches, routing protocols, Cisco, Juniper, and MPLS. General understanding of network topologies and infrastructure. Desired Qualification Experience in a Tech Control Facility (TCF) or Cyber Transport environment. Background in circuit actions and coordination with telecom vendors. Familiarity with IP architecture and network design principles. Experience working in a Telco Network Operations Center (NOC), including inside and outside plant operations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Teams. Experience in one or more of the following areas: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, or change management. Additional certifications are a plus, including: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) JNCIA-Junos (Juniper Networks Certified Associate) F5 Networks Certified Technical Specialist ITILv4 (Information Technology Infrastructure Library, Version 4) Education High school diploma and 2–4 years of relevant experience.
