Your impact:
When it comes health and safety, we’re helping our clients protect our communities. As a Health & Safety (H&S) Professional and Night Safety Officer in Channelview, TX you will play a key role on infrastructure project sites to drive a culture of safety and monitor compliance with required regulations. You will also work with the Project Safety Officer to provide guidance and leadership in the development, implementation, and administration of safety, health, occupational health, fire protection and prevention, and equipment and property protection.
• At minimum an AS degree in engineering, industrial hygiene, safety, or related field
• A minimum of 8-10 years of full-time experience in a Health & Safety position
• Experience with working on large projects with multiple work areas
• Previous experience in a construction and general industry environment
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
• Experience with managing and conducting safety training presentations
• Strong background in technical safety compliance and auditing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
• Ability to travel and work at project location
• Possess a valid driver’s license with no major infractions
• Demonstrated interpersonal relations and personnel management skills
• Knowledge in regulatory compliance, as well as all federal, state and local agencies requirements
• Work is performed in both office and field environments with exposure to various weather conditions.
• Ability to climb stairs and comfortable working at heights
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and perform work at a computer terminal for extended periods.
• Availability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.
Ideally, you'll also have:
• Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• OSHA 30-hour General Industry Certification or equivalent
• Experience in bridge construction environment
