    We’re seeking a highly motivated, curious and creative individual to join Jacobs’ [1] Operations Management and Facilities Service (OMFS) practice as a Technical Communications Specialist. Our ideal teammate will produce creative and impactful communications, content and client publications for an array of channels and mediums. The teammate will collaborate with leaders, subject matter experts and a global communications team to create content that effectively supports our business priorities and pushes the limits of what’s possible. This position requires an understanding of basic marketing and communications concepts, as well as an ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

     

    The role will report to the Head of Communications for OMFS and partner across the OMFS Communications team as well as Global Communications to drive the brand forward on key initiatives.

    Role and responsibilities

    • Oversees content development and program management for internal and external client-facing deliverables, including project annual reports, technical documents, client presentations and related sales-support materials.

    • Assists in implementing communication strategies, tactics and activities to ensure ongoing, consistent and targeted communications.

    • Supports the execution of digital marketing campaigns.

    • Assists with the development of social media content to support communication activities.

    • Contributes to internal and external communications, including internal newsletters and magazines, digital signage, the company website and more.

    • Monitors media coverage and researches emerging industry trends.

    • Embraces OMFS’ authentic culture and identifies opportunities to advance our vision to make a real-world impact for our clients, communities and our teams nationwide.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, technical writing, or related field preferred.

    • 2 to 4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or related field.

    • Maintain a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency.

    • Strong project management skills and an ability to take initiative, plan and prioritize in order to successfully complete projects.

    • Strong technical writing skills and familiarity with journalistic (AP) style.

    • Effective communicator with the ability to adapt tone and style to different audiences and formats.

    • Possess a keen understanding of current trends in digital media and have experience in coordinating social media content creation.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

    • Excel at relationship building and effectively working across teams.

    Ideally, you’ll also have

    • Engineering-related or sales-focused copywriting experience is a plus but not required.
