    Join Student Wellness at Iowa State University as a University Health Promotion Specialist, and play a central role in transforming campus culture around mental health and well-being. This is your opportunity to lead meaningful, data-driven outreach and education that empowers students to thrive.

    What You’ll Do:

    + Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of mental health promotion initiatives aligned with the university’s JED Campus action plan.

    + Oversee strategic outreach efforts, including training, events, and campaigns that support suicide prevention, help-seeking behaviors, and the promotion of life skills and social connections.

    + Collaborate with Student Counseling Services to expand prevention programming and lead mental health training efforts across campus.

    + Coordinate and facilitate both in-person and online mental health training programs for students, staff, and faculty.

    + Serve as a campus lead for Therapy Assistance Online (TAO), managing outreach and integrating digital mental health resources into campus initiatives.

    + Supervise and mentor student employees, overseeing hiring, training, and professional development efforts.

    + Support broader Student Wellness efforts related to substance use prevention, violence prevention, and basic needs security.

    + Ensure compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and university policies related to confidentiality and data protection.

    + You’ll engage stakeholders across academic and student affairs, building cross-functional partnerships that elevate campus well-being.

    + Position Type: Full-time, Professional and Scientific.

    + Location: On-site at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa.

    + Residency Requirement: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
