Summary : Manages a team of Business Development Officers to coordinate business development activities of the Bank, including the solicitation and development of commercial business accounts, commercial real estate mortgages, commercial & industrial lines of credits and term loans. Assists in developing and expanding relationships with attorneys, CPA’s, other centers of influence and existing business customers. Exercises the usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, training, performance evaluation, discipline and salary recommendations. Job Responsibilities:
+ Develops, reviews, and recommends overall objectives, policies and procedures for the Corporate Development Department. Develop specific strategies and tactics designed to increase sales effectiveness of the Department and Commercial Lending.
+ Manages Business Development Officers (BDO) within these objectives, policies, procedures, strategies and tactics. Monitors calls and sales efforts of the BDOs to ensure successful execution of set goals. Assists the Customer Solutions Leader with the implementation of client calling and sales promotion programs.
+ Develops and guides BDOs in the development of new business for the Bank’s Commercial Lending group. Solicits new clients through various sources and coordinates efforts with Loan Officers and Branch Managers on business calls relating to commercial loans, business accounts and fee based products. Interacts with existing business customers to enhance relationships and cross sell products and services.
+ Works closely with the Marketing Department Events Team to monitor the use of corporate resources, i.e. use of corporate suite, tickets, golf outings and other customer incentive programs to ensure effective and successful sales results. Monitors the Bank’s attendance at industry events, conventions, corporate suite events, golf outings and other corporate gatherings as required for the purpose of developing new business, maintaining commercial relationships and representing the Bank. Actively manages the Bank’s Advisory Councils coordinating membership and events.
+ Maintains a working knowledge of the Bank’s credit policies for commercial lending as well as any political climates or trends that may affect our commercial customers.
+ Exercises the usual authority of a manager concerning staff sales goals, strategies, performance evaluation, discipline and employment growth. Demonstrates a commitment and responsibility to Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action.

Job Requirements:
+ College Degree or equivalent experience preferred;
+ 10+ years of experience in business development or equivalent role.
+ Strong understanding of the banking industry and demonstrated knowledge/capabilities in the areas of financial analysis, administration, and business development;
+ Extensive contacts within the New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York C&I and CRE business community.
+ Extensive bank and non-bank contacts within the business community and at Centers of Influence.
+ Client service oriented with strong interpersonal skills; excellent client communication, presentation and negotiation skills a must;
+ High aptitude to learn quickly, work with new teams, on projects, and perform well under pressure with attention to detail;
+ Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex business/financial data, and develop innovative client solutions;
+ Excellent verbal, written, and executive presentation skills;
+ Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
