    Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Silver Wings Pool. Be able to lift and carry 45 pounds. Responsibilities Serves as lead lifeguard over three or more lifeguards and over water safety instructors in the performance of lifeguard and related swimming facility duties. Distributes and balances workload in accordance with established directives. Ensures safe pool environment and resource protection standards are in compliance with established procedures. Direct, instructs and reviews staff work assignment providing specific tasks, procedures and techniques and provides on the job training. Ensures strict adherence and precise attention to detail and work assignments are accomplished timely. Ensures swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area. Using a variety of techniques such as artificial respirator, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid rescues and resuscitates individuals in danger of drowning promptly renders first aid to injuries. Warns swimmers of unsafe environment o health conditions, hazards and recommends closing swimming areas until safe. Collects admission fees, makes change and completes appropriate forms. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Possess physical ability to swim and to rescue swimmers of all ages and to administer CPR to adults, children and infants. Must possess an approved current and valid national recognized certification in lifeguard, basic first aid and CPR. Experience as a supervisor. Working knowledge to satisfactorily and safely operate basic pool maintenance. Knowledge of swimming facility rules, work procedures, equipment and materials. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal Affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement.
