    Summary

    The Senior Accessibility Manager ensures MTA C&D ' s responsibility for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act on the project level for all business unit - based and integrated projects. The expected result of the job is that the position ensures that an assigned project is reviewed and approved at the definition, design, construction, and acceptance steps of a project for Accessibility.

    Responsibilities

    Can complete all portions of Accessibility , including reviewing and approving plans for Accessibility, performing inspections, and fully understanding the administrative requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

     

    Oversee the deployment of staff and consultants to provide Accessibility services to assigned projects.

     

    Utilize third - party services to minimize the review and inspection process.

     

    Be organized to provide the status of Accessibility activities through metric-based deliverables effectively .

     

    Represent the FACC Office as the first-level escalation of technical issue resolution within a project.

     

    Understands the MTA system components related to A ccessibility for technical review.

     

    Education and Experience

     

    Bachelor ' s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.

     

    Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience .

     

    Must have a t least three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory role and/or project manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization.

     

    A Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect is desirable.

     

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

     

    Must be an ICC Accessibility Inspector/Plans Examiner or equivalent within 18 months of hire

     

    Must possess excellent team - building , listening, problem - solving, and prioritization skills.

     

    Proficient computer skills (i.e., Windows environment, Microsoft Office, etc.) and strong business administrative skills (i.e., presentations, report and letter writing, time management, etc.).

     

    Other Information

     

    Pursuant to the New York State Public Officers Law & the MTA Code of Ethics, all employees who hold a policymaking position must file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure (FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (the "Commission").
