Job Summary
The Manager Distributed Interconnection Services is responsible for managing all activity related to interconnection of distributed generation (DG) to the distribution system, including independent power producers (IPP), behind-the-meter residential and commercial customers, and utility-owned DG in Interstate Power and Light (IPL) and Wisconsin Power and Light (WPL). This role manages the customer-facing Renewable Energy Hotline function and drives collaboration between the Distributed Interconnection Services team, engineering and IT personnel to ensure that the interconnection application review and approval processes are executed effectively. Accountable for ensuring that Alliant Energy complies with regulations governing the interconnection of DG to the distribution system. Responsible for managing the costs associated with processing interconnection applications, including the management of customer application fees. This role maintains oversight of ongoing utility, IPP, and customer DG operational issues. Establishes and maintains credibility, communications, and relationships with internal and external stakeholders related to DG and Distributed Energy Resources (DER).

+ Manages the Renewable Energy Hotline, providing customer-facing support and guidance. Engages with customers to discuss and offer energy solutions, addressing their needs and helping them understand the benefits and processes related to distributed generation.
+ Manages and maintains oversight of IPP and customer accounts with distribution connected DG to create and enhance customer relationships and resolve customer feedback issues of a complex, sensitive, and varied nature.
+ Provides direction to appropriate staff and departments related to distributed generation contracts and tariffs.
+ Manages and oversees coordination of information flow between customers and appropriate departments, field locations, and the dispatch center to enhance service to our utility customers.
+ Manages and modifies business processes necessary to grow and operationalize customer solutions.
+ Manages both IPL and WPL distribution interconnect processes in accordance with IAC Chapter 45 and 15 and WI Administrative Code PSC Chapter 119.
+ Serves as the application owner and directs the administration of the interconnect system, including responsibility for contract terms, the vendor relationship, and overall system/process development.
+ Ensures timely and accurate regulatory and internal reporting.
+ Advises, interprets, and applies codes, rules, and policies for correct application to DG activities.
+ Coordinates the activities of the cash processing function to ensure effective and efficient processing of customer payments. Works closely with vendors, other departments, banking leadership, and Treasury operations to ensure efficient reconciliation of cash processing funds on a daily basis. Ensures all internal audit requirements are met.

Education Requirements
+ Bachelor's Degree Emphasis in business administration, finance, economics, engineering or related field Preferred
Required Experience
+ 8 years of experience within the utility industry in engineering, distributed generation, field operations or business.
+ Experience with or knowledge gained of business economics, customer relations and regulatory relations supplemented with appropriate technical expertise to facilitate technical solutions preferred.
+ 3 years of supervisory experience or equivalent.
Preferred Experience
+ Prior experience in distributed generation interconnection.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Demonstrated ability to execute and interpret contracts. Possesses and understanding of applicable tariffs.
+ Demonstrated strong problem solving skills and the ability to work with others to find solutions to customer requests preferred.
+ Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
+ Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects including schedules, budgets, and project deliverables.
+ Ability to work effectively in and foster a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Pay Range:
$104,000-$143,000
This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
