    Job Title: Food Service Worker

     

    Department: Food and Nutrition Services

     

    Hours Per Week: Part Time 22.5 hours

     

    Schedule: 7.5 hour shifts; Variable days, every other weekend, holidays; 7am to 3pm or 11am to 7pm

    SUMMARY:

    The Food Service Worker plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient food service environment at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. This position is responsible for the sanitation of dishes, utensils, pots, and pans; operation of commercial dishwashing equipment; and the preparation and stocking of food items, including vending machine products and “To Go” meals.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Fills nourishment requisitions, delivers items to patient floors, and ensures proper storage.

    + Operates the dish machine to clean dishes and silverware, following safety and sanitation protocols.

    + Prepares trays for patient delivery, including those with therapeutic or restricted diets.

    + Cleans and stores pots, pans, and kitchen equipment; maintains cleanliness of work areas, including sweeping and mopping.

    + Prepares sliced meats, sandwiches, and salads for patients, the Cafeteria, and vending machines.

    + Stocks and maintains the vending machine, removing expired items and sanitizing surfaces regularly.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Background in nutrition

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

    PAY RANGE:

    $17.39 - $24.03

     

    The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
