SUMMARY: Rochester Regional Health offers a paid internship for rising high school juniors and seniors interested in exploring careers in healthcare. Students will have exposure to health care careers and have experiences in various aspects of the health care system including: operations, clinical environments, and front-line support. The internship opportunity is being supported in partnership with local charter schools. The position offers 8 weeks of hands-on experience while earning a competitive wage. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Gain exposure to health care careers by participating in job shadowing opportunities, structured learning activities, team meetings, trainings and/or project work. • Attending scheduled presentations, workshops, and certificate programs to build workplace knowledge and career readiness skills. • Learn and apply basic administrative and/or operational processes relevant to the assigned area. • Support day-to-day departmental tasks under the guidance of a supervisor and team members. • Complete assigned tasks and learning goals in alignment with program objectives. • Use common computer programs to support daily work. • Follow all Rochester Regional Health safety, privacy and confidentiality policies. • Perform additional duties as assigned to support team needs and personal development. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Currently enrolled in high school as a rising junior or senior and on track to graduate. • Interest in career exploration in healthcare field. • Strong attendance record and time management skills. • Willingness to learn and take initiative. • Ability to work collaboratively. • Basic proficiency with common computer programs (i.e.: Microsoft Excel or Word). • Demonstrate strong communication and active listening skills, and embody core values to provide healthcare and support our communities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Candidate must be at least 16 years old at date of hire. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS: • None

S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
