Job Description Summary:
The Director, Pharmacy Medication Access Services will work directly with the Vice President, Pharmacy Business Operations and will be responsible for all aspects of development and integration of pharmacy hub services for BILH.
This individual will be responsible for the leadership and direction of current pharmacy services such as the medication renewal center, medication authorization and access, patient outreach, and other pharmacy hub services.
This position will need to be able to execute a wide variety of pharmacy and operational tasks.
Job Description:
+ Plans, develops, coordinates and implements all activities related to integrated pharmacy services.
+ Responsible of the oversight and direction of the medication renewal center, pharmacy medication authorization and access team, patient outreach and other pharmacy hub services.
+ Creates processes and improvements to optimize current BILH pharmacy operations.
+ Develops programs to integrate and support specialty and retail pharmacy business within the system.
+ Responsible for assisting in strategic planning and development.
+ Provides audit reports to leadership team in regards to business analytics and productivity.
+ Collaborates with hospital(s) department to integrate pharmacy operations, and has the ability to triage and lead team through enigmatic situations.
+ Evaluates retail and specialty pharmacy operations to maintain continuity of success and growth.
+ Plans, reviews and optimizes workflows within the pharmacies, ensures the proper work flow of intakes distribution through departments, and schedule and delegates work load amongst team members.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required. Doctoral degree in Pharmacy preferred.
2. License Massachusetts Pharmacist required.
3. 8-10 years related work experience required.
4. 3-5 years management experience required.
5. Understanding of insurance and adjudication processes.
6. Experience working with payors in contracting.
7. Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Completion of ASHP accredited PGY1 Health System Residency.
2. Advanced degree in business management (i.e. MBA, MHA).
3. 340B Pharmacy experience.
4. Contracting experience.
