    The Quotation Specialist is responsible for preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates and quotes for prospective and existing customers within the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry. This role requires a strong understanding of PCB assembly processes, component sourcing, labor costs, and related manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including program managers, procurement, engineering, and production to deliver competitive and timely quotations.

    Responsibilities

    + Analyze customer RFQs (Request for Quote), BOMs (Bill of Materials), files, and assembly drawings to develop detailed cost estimates.

    + Work with new and existing vendors to obtain accurate component pricing and lead times.

    + Coordinate with production and engineering teams to assess manufacturing feasibility and identify potential cost drivers.

    + Prepare and present formal quotations in a timely manner ensuring alignment with margin targets and customer requirements.

    + Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier capabilities in the EMS sector.

    + Track and follow up on open quotes and collaborate with program managers to convert opportunities into orders.

    + Continuously improve estimating tools, templates, and processes for efficiency and accuracy.

    + Participate in weekly Quote Log meetings or calls as needed.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of experience with quotations/purchasing

    + ERP experience

    + Strong knowledge of electronic components, PCB assembly processes, and manufacturing workflows

    + Proficiency in reading technical drawings, BOMs, files, and customer specifications

    + Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

    + Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate or bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering, Electronics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)

    + 2–5 years of experience in quoting or cost estimation, preferably in EMS or contract manufacturing

    + Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Macola, Syteline, Epicor) and quoting software

     

    Work Environment

     

    This position is onsite 5 days a week, with work hours from 8am-5pm, totaling a 40-hour work week.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $31.25/hr.
