    Storeroom Materials Management Specialist - Covington Mill

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Storeroom Materials Management Specialist will be responsible for working within a local team to help support the operation and management of MRO inventory. Regular interaction and communication with the hourly stores organization will be required to support their role in the process. They will also support the inventory control process by monitoring inventory levels and making min/max recommendations. The Storeroom Materials Management Specialist will make recommendations regarding obsolescence that will assist in achieving optimum inventory levels. The role will support safety throughout the operation.

     

    Regular interfacing will be required with a diverse group of Maintenance and Operations employees as well as outside vendors, to support the process and resolve issues. These efforts will also need to support the Reliability Process for the mill. The Storeroom Materials Management Specialist will communicate with vendors on material quotes including pricing and delivery. Resolve specification issues with mill employees, vendors, or within SAP and work with others to generate required changes in SAP. Assist with expediting materials or services as required. Work with various groups to resolve issues in the overall Procure to Pay process such as missing receipts, pricing issues, or payment terms. Also support the automated functions within SAP, such as ERS and Auto PO conversion.

     

    Take ownership for inventory management through consignment programs, OEM conversion, obsolescence reviews, Min / Max reviews, and Over- Maximum inventory management. The position will negotiate delivery and review pricing with contract suppliers. The Storeroom Materials Management Specialist will leverage corporate contracts and pursue contract sourcing when materials are not sourced as such. The Storeroom Materials Management Specialist will work with the MRO Repair Coordinator role and will provide backup for this role as required.

     

    Regular tracking and reporting of Stores Metrics will be required. Always follow corporate policies and maintain Sarbanes Oxley compliance in all actions.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    * Experience in MRO Materials supply and / or management with actual storeroom experience being desirable. Maintenance experience or strong knowledge of MRO Materials is also highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial environment or equivalent.

    * SAP knowledge in purchasing, maintenance, or inventory management is desirable.

    * Ability to work with hourly employees and suppliers / service vendors.

    * Knowledge of maintenance systems. This can include mechanical, electrical or instrumentation.

    * Fundamental knowledge of warranty tracking and MRP process.

    * Must have general knowledge of cost benefits. (Example - buy versus repair)

    * An understanding of consignment in SAP.

    * Inventory management experience is a plus.

    * Computer skills, primarily Word and Excel.

    * Must have good communication skills, verbal and written.

    * Ability to exercise good judgment and demonstrate good decision-making skills.

    * Must be an aggressive, self-starter who has good organizational skills.

    * High level of integrity and trustworthiness is required.

    * Ability to multi-task. Must be flexible while handling multiple tasks at the same time.
