    Job Overview

     

    The Happy Tech Lab in the Department of Psychology at Georgetown University (PI: Dr. Kostadin Kushlev) is seeking a motivated, organized, and conscientious part-time Lab Manager. The Lab Manager will be working closely with Dr. Kushlev to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory, including managing expense reimbursements, planning meetings, and supervising research assistants. The Lab Manager will also directly participate in conducting research, including managing studies, analyzing data, and writing research reports. This position is full-time, and the Lab Manager is expected to work up to 40 hours per week. Duties include but are not limited to:

     

    + Managing expense reimbursements

    + Planning meetings

    + Supervising research assistants

    + Conducting research

    + Analyzing data

    + Writing research reports

     

    Work Interactions

     

    The Lab Manager reports to Dr. Kostadin Kushlev, Assistant Professor and PI of the Happy Tech Lab. The Lab Manager will interact with the principal investigator (PI), collaborators at other institutions, graduate and undergraduate students in the lab, research participants, and administrative officials in the Department of Psychology and elsewhere at Georgetown University.

     

    Requirements and Qualifications

     

    + A minimum of one year commitment to the role

    + Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field

    + One year of post-bacc research experience OR two years of undergraduate research experience in a psychology lab

    + Interpersonal and professional communication skills

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    + Demonstrated organizational and managerial skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with data cleaning and data analysis

    + Experience with R or equivalent statistical software

    + Eagerness to participate in a wide range of intellectual activities

    + Eagerness to learn new skills and master new tasks as necessary

    + Interest in the research conducted in the lab

    + Fit of the position and research given future career aspirations

    + Customer service experience

    + Project management experience

    + Attention to detail

     

    Work Mode Designation

    Pay Range:

    The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

    $19.20 - $28.70

     

    Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
