    **Work hours:** Full Time, 40 Hours, Days; Call required

    Here’s What You Need

    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Medical Technology or related field OR

    • Master’s Degree in Public Health required

    • 2 years of experience in acute care hospital, alternative care setting (Rehab, LTC, SNU), or infectious disease epidemiology required

    • RN – Registered Nurse if Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing upon hire required OR

    • MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist if Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Medical Technology or Biology upon hire required OR

    • M(ASCP) - Microbiology if Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Medical Technology or Biology upon hired required AND

    • CIC - Certification in Infection Prevention and Control within 3 years required

    • CIC – Certification in Infection Prevention and Control preferred

    What You Will Do

    • Collaborate on development of an annual IP plan, based on population(s) served and services provided, and collects/analyzes data to determine effectiveness of the plan

    • Utilize epidemiological principles to conduct surveillance and lead outbreak investigations

    • Conduct IPC rounds, based on annual and periodic risk assessments, to ensure compliance with IPC standards and regulatory requirements

    • Assess the risk of occupational exposures to infectious disease and recommend strategies for prevention

    • Contribute to antimicrobial stewardship (AS) efforts by identifying and detecting MDROs among the population served, reporting surveillance trends over time, using surveillance data, and analyzing antibiograms.

    • Pursue/achieve/maintain required, applicable certification and licensure
