If this description speaks to you, continue reading about the opportunity of Grounds Manager. This is a full time exempt position at the Meadows. Standard hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30 - 4:00 (Hours vary based on needs and snow season)
Position Summary: The Grounds Manager is responsible for overseeing the care and upkeep of the property, supervise and work with Groundskeepers with a team effort, plan grounds projects, assist with budget projections and manage an inventory of the necessary parts and supplies.
Qualifications:
+ Must be a High School Graduate or equivalent.
+ Must have three years’ experience in supervising grounds care/landscaping; Experience in small engine repair preferred but not necessary.
+ Must have a valid NYS driver’s license.
+ Must be able to interact with residents, visitors and staff in a positive and courteous manner.
+ Fluent in the English Language.
+ Meet and maintain St. John’s vehicle driving standards.
Physical Requirements:
+ Walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, bending, and reaching are required in the accomplishment of tasks. Has the ability to lift 50 lbs.
Exposure to Conditions:
+ Working outdoors in extreme weather; May be exposed to dirt, dust, grease, oil, chemicals and noise; Operating lawn and snow removal equipment; climbing ladders; Work on electrical and plumbing.
