POSITION: Facilities Maintenance Technician
REPORTS TO: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor
AIRPORT: Albany International Airport
SUMMARY
Performs a wide variety of tasks involved in repairing and maintaining various facility systems including but not limited to jetways, bag belts and miscellaneous door configurations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
+ Provides assistance and back-up to the General Maintenance Mechanic as necessary. Strives to increase skill levels by taking instruction and training from the General Maintenance Mechanic.
+ Assists in training and provides Hands-on assistance to the various classifications of workers, technicians and mechanics in the Facility Maintenance Department and to airport tenants as required.
+ Provides the Superintendent with sufficient information to order equipment and supplies.
+ Assists HVAC Mechanics and Technicians in the repair and maintenance of HVAC systems as requested by HVAC Mechanic.
+ Assists in the development and monitoring of preventive maintenance schedules of various facility systems including but not limited to jetways, bag belts and miscellaneous door configurations.
+ Assists in the preparation of reports, logs and other communications as requested.
+ Assists in the coordination of the activities of other facility maintenance personnel and participates in snow removal operations.
+ Participate in Total Quality Management programs.
+ May be required to perform any other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three year’s experience with general knowledge of various building maintenance systems as they pertain to the systems at the Albany International Airport.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors and or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw or graph.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid New York State Driver’s License as a condition of employment.
