Job Title: Welder and Fabricator
Job Description
Join a dynamic team as a Welder and Fabricator, where you will be responsible for creating and assembling components using various welding techniques. Your role will involve analyzing technical drawings, operating safety equipment, and maintaining material stocks, all while ensuring precision in every weld.
Responsibilities
+ Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
+ Set up and use ladders and scaffolding as necessary to complete work.
+ Remove rough spots from workpieces using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
+ Preheat workpieces prior to welding or bending using torches or heating furnaces.
+ Prepare material surfaces to be welded, ensuring they are free from foreign matter.
+ Operate safety equipment and adhere to safe work habits.
+ Join parts such as beams and steel reinforcing rods in buildings, bridges, and highways, bolting and riveting as necessary.
+ Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs to complete electrical circuits.
+ Estimate materials needed for production and manufacturing and maintain required stocks.
+ Check grooves, angles, or gap allowances using precision measuring instruments.
+ Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, and work orders.
+ Clamp, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations.
+ Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter using hand scrapers or power chippers.
+ Clean or degrease parts using wire brushes, portable grinders, or chemical baths.
+ Connect and adjust gas flow and pressure to obtain desired flames.
+ Cut, contour, and bevel metal plates and structural shapes as specified by blueprints.
+ Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
+ Determine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy and welding techniques.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with MIG and TIG welding techniques.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
+ Skill in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
+ Knowledge of fabrication processes and press brake operation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with laser operation.
+ Understanding of metallurgy and geometry in welding applications.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
