    We are seeking a Principal/Sr Principal Embedded Software Engineer Product Owner who is eager to learn new technologies and join our innovative team. The role involves developing, enhancing, and maintaining software for cutting-edge products and systems within the Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This position is intended to be contracted to hire.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage the product backlog by creating, maintaining, and prioritizing it to reflect the current project needs and priorities.

    + Write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team.

    + Serve as the main point of contact between the development team and stakeholders, gathering and incorporating feedback to refine product requirements.

    + Participate in sprint planning meetings to help the team understand product backlog items and their priorities.

    + Review completed work to ensure it meets acceptance criteria and provides the desired value.

    + Provide technical guidance and insights to the development team, ensuring alignment with the product vision.

    + Resolve technical challenges and support the team in implementing solutions efficiently.

    + Promote a collaborative environment across different disciplines and organizations to effectively solve problems and proactively prevent issues.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in embedded C++ and VxWorks RTOS.

    + Experience in backlog management and product ownership using Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.

    + Proficiency in using Jira for tracking tickets, managing product backlog, and facilitating Agile workflows.

    + Current US Government Secret Security clearance adjudicated within the past 5 years.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience, OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience, OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience.

    + Experience with software and systems architecture.

    + Experience with flight software.

    + Experience with complex issue resolution with internal and external stakeholders.

    + Clearable to Special Access Program (SAP).

    The work environment involves cutting-edge technology and innovation within DoD programs. It requires collaboration across multiple disciplines, using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, to foster a proactive and problem-solving culture.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $72.00/hr.
