    Job Title: Welder

    Job Description

    The Welder will weld, cut, and braze metal pieces and products using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment.

    Responsibilities

    + Plan details of work order procedures and gather required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications.

    + Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment utilizing wire feed welding techniques.

    + Repair and fabricate various items and equipment using blueprints, measuring devices, cutting, burning, and welding techniques.

    + Monitor the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.

    + Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.

    + Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and the work area.

    + Notify supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.

    + Conduct quality control evaluations on completed welds.

    Essential Skills

    + 1-4 years of experience with wire feed welding, including steel and aluminum.

    + 1-3 years of fabrication with welding and layout experience.

    + Experience with hydraulics and mechanical systems.

    + Ability to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead.

    + Manual dexterity and stability for precision work.

    + Ability to see details at close range.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Completion of a formal apprenticeship, welding program, or a successful three-year in-company training program.

    + 1-3 years of mechanical experience with hydraulics (preferred).

    + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

    + Ability to traverse facilities and machinery by bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, climbing ladders, balancing, lifting, walking, carrying materials, and standing for long periods.

    + Comfort working at heights of up to 8 feet.

    + Ability to work in cramped workspaces and get into awkward positions.

    + Wearing specialized protective or safety equipment as required.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Snohomish, Washington.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
