Job Title: Shipping Associate
Job Description
The Shipping Associate is responsible for preparing packages and shipping products efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities
+ Accurately complete required paperwork.
+ Review merchandise prior to packaging to ensure products are properly labeled.
+ Utilize scan functions to perform shipping tasks in conjunction with computer operations.
+ Load and secure products onto trucks using straps and load bars to prevent freight damage.
+ Operate a forklift to move merchandise safely, adhering to company forklift rules.
+ Ensure accuracy and thoroughness with shipping lists, verifying quantities match paperwork.
+ Communicate with Less Than Truckload (LTL) drivers regarding paperwork and pro numbers.
+ Troubleshoot and communicate issues with product, components, tools, and overall quality of the product being loaded.
+ Maintain moderate product knowledge, including learning products by model number and understanding packaging and securing methods.
+ Consistently produce at an acceptable level of productivity with some supervision.
+ Verify and refer to the Bill of Materials (BOM).
+ Train associates on completing bills of lading, shipping labels, packing slips, and creating pallet identification and item bar code labels.
+ Perform tasks safely, including wearing safety glasses and gloves as per JHA requirements.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Previous shipping experience preferred.
+ Ability to use bar code readers, computer terminals, and other electronic devices.
+ Forklift training and certification required.
+ Experience in inventory management, loading, order picking, and unloading trucks.
+ Proficiency in warehouse operations and distribution.
+ Knowledge of shipping and freight management software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to accurately complete required paperwork.
+ Skill in reviewing merchandise and ensuring proper labeling.
+ Experience in communicating with LTL drivers.
+ Troubleshooting skills for product quality issues.
+ Moderate product knowledge, including model numbers and packaging methods.
+ Ability to train associates on shipping procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Charles, Missouri.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.93 - $18.00/hr.
