Job Title: Safety Carpenter
Job Description
As a Safety Carpenter, you will be responsible for installing essential safety equipment such as guard rails, handrails, safety cages, and barriers, ensuring compliance with OSHA and local safety regulations. You will read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and installation manuals to accurately measure, cut, and assemble materials using hand and power tools. Your role involves ensuring all installations are secure, level, and meet quality standards while inspecting and maintaining installed safety systems as needed. Collaborating with site supervisors and safety officers, you will ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area. Promptly reporting any safety hazards or installation issues is critical to this role.
Responsibilities
+ Install safety equipment including guard rails, handrails, safety cages, and barriers in accordance with OSHA and local safety regulations.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and installation manuals.
+ Measure, cut, and assemble materials using hand and power tools.
+ Ensure all installations are secure, level, and meet quality standards.
+ Inspect and maintain installed safety systems as needed.
+ Collaborate with site supervisors and safety officers to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.
+ Report any safety hazards or installation issues promptly.
Essential Skills
+ 5-7 Years of Carpentry Experience, 3-4 minimum on Commercial Sites.
+ Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably with experience in safety equipment installation.
+ Proficient in using carpentry tools and equipment.
+ Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
+ Strong understanding of construction safety standards and practices.
+ Physical stamina and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces.
+ Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment
Work is performed on construction sites, often outdoors and in varying weather conditions. The role may require lifting heavy materials and working at elevated heights. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Santa Monica, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.00/hr.
