Management Services Corporation (MSC), one of The Caton Companies, is seeking an Operations Coordinator for our Facilities Maintenance Department in Charlottesville, Virginia.

You'll help keep a team of able-bodied Maintenance Technicians organized and ready for tackling apartment maintenance jobs for well over 1,000 units in the Charlottesville area.

Essential Functions of the Operations Coordinator:

+ Actively manage each technician’s workload to ensure all work orders are completed to achieve stated work order completion targets.

+ Oversee the work order review process to achieve the stated work order review processing and export targets and ensure the proper GL code is assigned to each work order.

+ Provide operational input on all Facilities technician performance reviews as it pertains to work order completion requirements.

+ Maximize departmental income by ensuring that high-cost employees are performing high-rate work before lower rate work, considering skill sets, trade certifications and workload at all times.

+ Work with departmental staff to ensure there is adequate workload for the departments and ensure that all policy or procedural changes are distributed and adhered to.

+ Provide ongoing cross training of the Customer Service associate to ensure operational capabilities are maintained during periods of PTO use.

+ Process weekly payroll requirements, delivering them to the Payroll Supervisor in the specified time frame.

+ Support the Director of Facilities in the oversight of the maintenance technician team assuring that policies are met, procedures are followed.

+ Assist the Director of Maintenance Operations in leading change within the department.

+ Encourage and promote a team environment. Coordinate and participate in regular team building opportunities that may incorporate training, birthdays, work anniversaries and holidays.

Qualifications:

- Excellent communication skills

- Experience in residential maintenance operations

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Some weekend work and overtime may be required during critical busy turnover weeks.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent and prior experience in an operations setting, preferably residential maintenance operations.
