Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

This role involves palletizing and shrink wrapping products, cleaning and sanitizing workstations, and moving products and materials using a manual pallet jack. Responsibilities also include weighing products before they are transported to the warehouse, reading and recording digital weights, and moving filled bags, which can weigh up to 50 pounds. For weights exceeding 50 pounds, company policy requires teamwork. Candidates will push and pull bowls weighing up to 1,000 pounds, which are on wheels, and must move at least 8 bowls per shift. The position is physically demanding.

Responsibilities

+ Palletize and shrink wrap products.

+ Clean and sanitize workstations.

+ Move products and materials using a manual pallet jack.

+ Weigh products before transporting to warehouse.

+ Read and record digital weights on a small scale.

+ Move filled bags weighing up to 50 pounds.

+ Push and pull bowls weighing up to 1,000 pounds on wheels.

+ Move at least 8 bowls per shift.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in general labor, construction, manufacturing, or similar environments within the last 5 years.

+ Minimum 1 year of continuous employment with the same company in the last 5 years.

+ Ability to stand for up to 8 - 12 hours.

Work Environment

The work environment is characterized by a small town, family-like atmosphere with 30 full-time employees. Safety is paramount, with a strict adherence to good manufacturing practices. The dress code requires steel-toed boots, hair nets, eye protection, jeans, shirts, bump caps, and lab coats. Candidates must avoid smoking, tobacco products, perfume, cologne, fingernail polish, jewelry, and piercings on site. Clothing should be free of rips, tears, holes, or embellishments. The facility can be hot in the summer, reaching up to 90 degrees in certain rooms, while remaining comfortable in the winter. Orientation is completed on-site in 3-4 hours, with shift schedules communicated prior to the orientation date.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr.
