Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
This role involves operating and maintaining lab equipment such as dynos, data loggers, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters. You will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and upgrading equipment, as well as assisting engineers with the installation and removal of car parts. The position requires hands-on experience with wrenching, particularly with cars, and includes responsibilities such as taking photos during parts installation/removal and test driving vehicles. Additionally, you may be required to fulfill the role of a shop manager and ensure the shop remains clean and organized.
Responsibilities
+ 3D modeling with solidworks to design parts and components for automotive vehicles
+ Operate and maintain lab equipment including dynos, data loggers, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters.
+ Service, repair, and upgrade equipment.
+ Assist engineers with installation and removal of car parts.
+ Capture photographs during parts installation/removal.
+ Conduct test drives of vehicles.
+ Perform secondary shop manager duties, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
+ Coordinate items entering and leaving the shop, including cars and products for testing.
+ Maintain safety standards when lifting cars, using PPE, and operating machinery.
Essential Skills
+ Competency in running lab equipment such as dynos, data loggers, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters.
+ Hands-on experience with wrenching, especially with cars.
+ Ability to maintain, service, repair, and upgrade equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of SolidWorks is a plus.
+ Familiarity with Epicor is a plus.
+ Ability to manually fabricate and/or weld metal parts is a plus.
+ Organized and independent working style.
+ Safety-conscious mindset, including knowledge of safe car lifting and PPE usage.
Work Environment
The work environment includes managing and maintaining a clean and organized shop. You will be required to coordinate various items such as cars and products for testing. Safety is a priority, with expectations for proper use of PPE and machinery operation.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
