    Job Title: Test Engineer - Project EngineerJob Description

     

    The main function of this role is to research and investigate the design, functionality, and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment systems, and processes. As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for creating engineering drawings, as well as reading and interpreting blueprints. This entry-level position involves operating and maintaining test equipment in precision seals validation labs and is a blend of lab work and office-based data analysis.

    Responsibilities

    + Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices.

    + Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine time and cost feasibility of projects.

    + Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment, or software.

    + Support new process development and collaborate with design teams and manufacturing facilities.

    + Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), and New Technology Introduction (NTI) projects.

    Essential Skills

    + Creativity, verbal and written communication skills.

    + Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    + Team player and detail-oriented.

    + Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.

    + Previous experience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields.

    + 0–2 years of experience, open to recent graduates; more experienced candidates will also be considered.

    + Preferred backgrounds in metallurgy, rubber processing, general manufacturing, or lab-based research/testing.

    + Strong data analysis and reporting abilities.

    + Ability to work safely and follow structured test procedures.

    + Comfort with hands-on equipment and test rig operation.

    + Ability to interpret technical drawings and dimensional specs.

    + Problem-solving mindset for unique or non-standard tests.

    + Prior experience with rotary seals, face seals, or oil seals is a plus.

    + Exposure to environmental or wear testing is desirable.

    Work Environment

    The position involves a mix of hands-on lab work and office-based data analysis. The role is part of a team that supports new product introductions, continuous product improvements, and new technology introductions. You will be working in precision seals validation labs, requiring adherence to safety protocols and structured test procedures. The work environment encourages collaboration with design teams and manufacturing facilities.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
