    As a Plumbing Designer, you will be responsible for designing plumbing and mechanical/HVAC systems for retail, restaurant, and commercial projects. Your main focus will be leading the plumbing design and assisting with HVAC drawings as needed. You will attend kickoff meetings with clients, conduct code research, perform field surveys of existing building conditions, and produce load calculations.

    Responsibilities

    + Design plumbing systems for various projects, including retail, restaurant, and commercial spaces.

    + Assist with HVAC drawings on an as-needed basis.

    + Attend kickoff meetings with clients to understand project requirements.

    + Conduct thorough code research to ensure compliance with building standards.

    + Perform field surveys to assess existing building conditions.

    + Produce accurate load calculations to support design decisions.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD for plumbing designs.

    + Strong knowledge of plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC design principles.

    + Experience in plumbing/fire protection and building systems design.

    + Ability to draft and engineer designs effectively.

    + Knowledge of building codes and regulations.

    + 5+ years of relevant experience.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field.

    + Ability to produce plumbing and HVAC drawings independently.

    + Understanding of mechanical/HVAC design, though the role is plumbing-focused.

    Work Environment

    You will work within a collaborative and laid-back environment in a firm that partners with architecture firms, developers, and general contractors across the Midwest. The office consists of 12 members, including engineers, drafters, and admin staff, contributing to a variety of projects from small renovations to large-scale industrial projects. The firm operates in a non-corporate, anti-politics atmosphere, fostering a low-key and supportive environment. You will be required to be local to the Oak Brook area for site visits and work 40-45 hours a week, with the flexibility to work three days in the office.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $57.69/hr.
