    Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Engineer to spearhead cross-functional problem-solving, process improvement, and project activities. The role involves collaborating with supply chain, vendor partners, and suppliers to optimize engineering projects, define assembly processes, and enhance production demand through capital equipment upgrades.

    Responsibilities

    + Initiate and lead the development and optimization of engineering projects focused on cost savings and new processes.

    + Define and implement general assembly inline or end-of-line vehicle process requirements in collaboration with vehicle design, software, and integration teams for new product launches.

    + Identify, plan, and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout upgrades to meet production demand.

    + Perform cost-benefit analysis, calculate return on investment (ROI), and assess risks and values of projects to align resources with company needs.

    + Develop and maintain project performance metrics, including leading, lagging, and predictive indicators.

    + Responsible for financial planning, including creating and adhering to project budgets.

    + Lead prototype builds and vehicle commissioning during vehicle testing.

    + Implement process improvement methodologies and tools, such as value stream mapping, problem solving, and visual management, to reduce manufacturing build hours, increase production rates, and eliminate waste.

    + Manage and balance safety, quality, throughput, cost, and personnel to maximize value for customers and the company.

    + Review work performed by production teams and external vendors, identify service quality risks, and collaborate with the quality team to drive performance improvement initiatives.

    + Optimize vehicle components and manufacturing processes in collaboration with cross-functional teams, considering KPIs such as quality, productivity, and capital expenditure.

    + Support the day-to-day production of vehicles and components in collaboration with technicians, quality, and supply chain teams.

    + Analyze and resolve manufacturing discrepancies, interfacing with the quality team for root cause analysis and corrective actions.

    + Establish strong cross-functional relationships with engineering, supplier quality, and manufacturing teams.

    + Develop and maintain manufacturing and test planning for processes, products, and integration.

    + Create and manage manufacturing BOMs, work instructions, and specifications.

    + Develop, educate, update, and improve standards for items within assigned scope.

    + Create and/or improve preventative maintenance plans for tools, equipment, and facilities.

    + Create standards and inspection criteria for parts and products.

    + Perform PFMEAs for operations within assigned scope.

    + Lead investigations for process issues leading to test failures and ensure issues are resolved with immediate mitigation and permanent solutions.

    + Work in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and collaborate with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals.

    + Assist in special projects as required.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in process improvement methodologies.

    + Experience in leading cross-functional problem-solving and project activities.

    + Ability to initiate and optimize engineering projects.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Strong analytical skills to perform cost-benefit analysis and ROI calculations.

    + Experience in financial planning and budget management.

    + Proficiency in developing and maintaining project performance metrics.

    Work Environment

    The role requires working in a collaborative and cross-functional team environment, utilizing methodologies and tools to optimize manufacturing processes. The position involves regular interaction with supply chain, vendors, and other departments to ensure efficient production and quality standards.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
