Engineering Technician Position

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This job is responsible for providing support to engineers

on technical projects and/or products. Collects, maintains, organizes,

compiles, and manipulates technical data.

May create, build, assemble, modify and/or repair

prototypes.

Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings

(sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.).

Performs mathematical calculations per engineering

specifications.

Undertakes analyses of data where guidelines are provided.

Recommends alternative solutions to problems and obstacles.

May set-up and conduct tests and record data to assist with

engineering analysis. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be

a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job

content.

Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for

each employee.)

SCOPE: This is an entry level position where

incumbents are learning job skills and becoming familiar with company policies

to complete assignments. Incumbents have minimal understanding of technical

aspects of job.

PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Works on problems of

limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing

situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.

IMPACT: Contributions are usually limited to

assignment related activities. Decisions and achievements may have direct

effect on project schedule. LIAISON: Interacts daily with supervisors and/or

functional peer groups. Interaction normally involves exchange or presentation

of factual information. FREEDOM TO ACT: Under close supervision, the individual

performs the routine aspects of scientific and engineering assignments

requiring knowledge and application of basic scientific and engineering

principles.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: This is the

entry level position in the job family where the employee applies the basic

fundamental, concepts, practices, and procedures to acquire the knowledge and

experience to become proficient in the job.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
