Job Title: Building Automation Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Controls Engineer to design advanced building automation systems, including the specification and sizing of controllers, electromechanical devices, sensors, networks, and computer hardware. The role involves creating sequences of operation for the control of building systems, documenting design and revisions, and mentoring other Controls Engineers. The position requires adherence to project requirements and company standards, creating clear design documents, and providing technical support to sales representatives.

Responsibilities

+ Design advanced building automation systems, including controllers, electromechanical devices, sensors, networks, and computer hardware.

+ Create sequences of operation for building systems.

+ Document and revise design submissions while maintaining revision control.

+ Mentor and support other Controls Engineers.

+ Adhere to project requirements and company standards in design, programming, and implementation.

+ Create clear design documents for project teams.

+ Provide technical support to sales representatives to meet customer needs.

+ Support functional testing for complex building systems.

+ Advise on design and programming standards, including parts and practices.

+ Identify project opportunities and risks related to cost, time, and technical considerations.

+ Create well-written requests for information (RFIs).

+ Maintain clear communication with managers and project teams.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience in engineering or HVAC controls industry.

+ Thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical building systems.

+ Ability to design and program complex projects.

+ Proficiency in interpreting architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints.

+ Advanced knowledge of building automation system software and engineering tools.

+ Proficiency in third-party communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, N2.

+ Knowledge of Enterprise IP networks and Microsoft Visio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $45.00/hr.
