As a Lab Technician, you will manage technical service requests, ensuring thorough documentation, timely status updates, and effective communication with requestors. You will conduct both routine and complex tests and analyses, maintaining precision and efficiency throughout. Additionally, you will be responsible for the upkeep of laboratory equipment, products, and supplies, including performing preventative maintenance, managing shipments, ensuring lab cleanliness, and supporting standardization and 5S practices. You will execute application and laboratory test plans to support material and process characterizations, as well as root cause analysis. Adaptability to a dynamic work environment that may involve repetitive tasks and shifting priorities is essential. Effective communication with colleagues, suppliers, and customers, along with solving problems independently with minimal supervision, will be key components of your role. You will contribute to quality improvement and cost-saving initiatives, and adhere to all safety, health, and environmental regulations, practicing safe work habits consistently.
Responsibilities
+ Manage technical service requests, including documentation and communication.
+ Conduct routine and complex tests and analyses.
+ Maintain laboratory equipment, products, and supplies.
+ Perform preventative maintenance and manage shipments.
+ Ensure lab cleanliness and support standardization and 5S practices.
+ Execute application and laboratory test plans for material and process characterizations.
+ Communicate effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
+ Solve problems independently with minimal supervision.
+ Contribute to quality improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
+ Adhere to safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Essential Skills
+ Knowledge in Chemistry, Laboratory, and Materials Science.
+ Hands-on experience with material testing, sample preparation, and mixing raw materials.
+ Skills in process control, adhesive, and tensile testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate Degree in Scientific Discipline or similar (Materials Science and Chemistry most relevant).
+ Experience in adhesives or coatings (1-3 years ideally).
+ Hands-on experience with tensile testing, pressure sensitivity testing, peel testing, melting and mixing plastics.
+ Experience managing or running a project independently or with minimal support.
Work Environment
The work environment is a dynamic Lab/Desk setting. The team comprises full-time employees and contractors who foster a strong culture with multiple networking groups and employee resource groups. Additionally, there are opportunities for extra-curricular activities such as a golf league, fantasy football, picnics, and lunches. There is room for growth within the organization, with potential advancement to engineer or scientist positions. This role provides exposure to various technologies and processes across about ten different industries, emphasizing sustainability and innovation.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
