    Job Title: Construction Materials Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Construction Materials Technician to perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. The role involves communicating with various stakeholders including project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractor representatives to ensure project requirements are met.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials.

    + Communicate effectively with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractor representatives.

    + Transport material samples with identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.

    + Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.

    + Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.

    + Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.

    + Adhere to strict safety standards.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in concrete, soil, and construction material testing.

    + Experience in general labor, painting, and landscaping.

    + Ability to conduct concrete inspection, aggregate testing, and asphalt evaluation.

    + Knowledge of nuclear gauge and nuclear density gauge usage.

    + A clean driving record.

    + Minimum 6 months of outdoor field work experience, preferably in construction.

    + High school diploma required.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate's degree in construction, engineering, or geology preferred but not required.

    Work Environment

    The work environment consists of 75% fieldwork and 25% office-based tasks. Testing will occur at job sites and documentation will be completed in the office, with some lab testing conducted in our Lenexa lab. The team is small, ranging from 1-3 people, fostering a collaborative and 'can do' culture. The dress code includes boots, jeans, and appropriate attire for fieldwork.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
