    Job Title: Engineering Technical Support Specialist

    Job Description

    The Engineering Technical Support Specialist performs detailed, professional, technical-level work on electronic equipment and systems related to engineering. This position requires onsite work at the CRF and may allow for remote work one day per week with approval.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide technical advice and guidance on the installation, adaptation, configuration, or enhancement of technical products, programs, and systems.

    + Resolve technical problems, troubleshoot products, and modify products to customer requirements, including software/firmware systems.

    + Analyze engineering specifications and drawings, collaborate with quality and manufacturing teams to obtain technical information, and investigate reports of defective, damaged, or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems.

    + Examine, measure, inspect, or test defective parts for conformance and evaluate findings to formulate corrective actions.

    + Plan and accomplish complete projects or studies of broad scope and complexity independently or serve as an expert in a narrow aspect of a particular field of engineering.

    + Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field and maintain general knowledge of related disciplines.

    + Devise creative and judicious approaches to accomplish work and solve operational problems.

    + Conduct tests, record data, assist with engineering evaluation, and perform preliminary analysis of data according to provided guidelines.

    + Maintain extensive contact with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels regarding operations or scheduling specific phases of projects or contracts.

    + Conduct briefings and participate in technical meetings for internal or external representatives concerning specific operations.

    + Perform other related tasks as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience, Master’s Degree with 3 years of related experience, or High School Diploma with 9+ years of related experience.

    + U.S. Citizenship.

    + Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.

    + Background in basic and advanced electronics, mechanical drawing, engineering fundamentals, and comprehensive knowledge of technical terminology.

    + Systems understanding and interoperability.

    + Ability to troubleshoot systems.

    + Use of test specification programs and fixtures.

    + Development of technical solutions to complex problems.

    + Familiarity with electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components.

    + Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.

    + Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Depot level repair experience.

    + Familiarity with USPS maintenance operations.

    + Background in Systems and Test engineering.

    + Business acumen and contract experience.

    + Prior management experience in a Union environment.

    + Lean Six Sigma and ISO 9001 experience or training.

    + Green Belt Certified.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.75 - $34.60/hr.
