Duties and Responsibilities

Job Summary

Under general direction, the Residence Life Coordinator assists the Assistant Directors with administrative functions for day-to-day operation of the assigned residence hall/area.

+ Assist the Department of Residence Life with administrative functions for day-to-day operation of the assigned residence hall/area, including supervision, training, and evaluation of paraprofessionals

+ Participate in the departmental 24/7 on-call duty and emergency response system for campus community of 4,700 residential students

+ Provide oversight and coordination to operational excellence, not limited to, housing and facility concerns, safety and security, asset management, and project management

+ Provide conflict mediation, crisis intervention and appropriate follow-up for students in the residential community

+ Assist the department with the maintenance of residence halls in cooperation with the Facilities Department, Housekeeping, University Operations, and Campus Safety

+ Oversee the implementation and evaluation of desk operations, not limited to, key inventory, temporary IDs, and billing processing

+ Serve as a University Conduct Administrator and adjudicate student conduct cases that occur in the residence halls

+ Serve as a liaison to Conference Services during the summer transition period

+ Serve on departmental and divisional committees as applicable

+ Fulfill other duties as assigned by departmental management

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

+ Bachelor’s degree required.

+ Prior experience in residence life and/or other areas of student affairs.

+ Prior experience in residence life and/or other areas of student affairs

+ Ability and willingness to work varied hours including evenings and weekends as needed

+ Ability and willingness to reside in the assigned residence hall community (furnished apartment)
